Animation work for W-Hotel, Amsterdam
Commissioned by Gabriel Lester for the W-Hotel, I worked on a spatial visualization of a cloud simulator designed for the inner courtyard of the hotel that is situated in the city center of Amsterdam.
This cloud simulator releases a plume of smoke every hour. The task involved 3D modeling the simulator, CGI work, and 3D projection mapping—all using three provided still images captured from pivotal vantage points: the restaurant, the bridge, and the courtyard itself.
The multi-layered compositions harmonize reflections and light diffusion from the various textures of the architectural elements and the interior to create a realistic scene.
